The water bottle that helped me drink two litres a day easily (2025)

In 2021, Khloé Kardashian was seen on Keeping Up With The Kardashians toting a one-gallon water bottle, the equivalent of almost four litres. The veritable tank had little motivators down the side reminding her to drink, a simple feature that took over the internet.

Now we have Tupperware's AquaVibe bottle, which keeps it to two litres but does much the same thing. Better yet, they've released a limited edition AquaVibe for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which kicks off next week. Pink-coloured, with little images of women doing various kinds of exercises, I was thrilled to get my hands on one and see if it motivated me to keep hydrated.

What is the AquaVibe's vibe?

The AquaVibe looks more like a tank than a bottle with two litres of capacity. It has markings up to 1750mL, but if you fill it to the brim, you have a day's worth of drinking water in your hands.

The handle attaches to the back of the lid, which was a little difficult to engineer. However, once it's in, it's very secure. The lid is spill-proof (we put it to the test) with a satisfying 'click' when closed and has a tiny spout for drinking when open. However, Tupperware have included a reusable straw for the bottle, which pokes out the lid.

The straw has a bendy silicone attachment for its base, allowing it to spring up when the bottle is opened, and fold securely into the bottle when the lid is closed.

It's not a design I was used to, but with all its moving parts it's actually a pleasant way to meet your daily water intake goals.

How does it stack up to other bottles?

As someone who likes to drink cold water, I wasn't sure if I could stick to using a plastic bottle. I have way too many vacuum-insulated metal bottles that I rotate through, and I usually put ice cubes and refrigerated water in them, so I didn't think I'd be able to drink from the AquaVibe once it settled to room temperature. But there was nothing stopping me from adding more ice cubes as I sipped throughout the day. It was a subtle way of increasing my water intake further.

Did I feel motivated?

I began drinking just before 10 am on a weekday when my morning rush meant I forgot to drink water. I smashed the first 500mL pretty quickly out of sheer thirst. After that, I was able to keep an eye on the time and the progress of my drinking, making sure I was a little ahead of the hour marker each time. When I was ahead, I'd pop it into the fridge to chill it a little, making sure to retrieve it before my next time marker.

It's somewhat surprising how satisfying it is to see the waterline moving with each passing hour. I can know reliably that I'm on top of my water intake, which is something I usually spend too much time thinking about. When I'm using an opaque bottle, I often set 20-minute timers on my watch to remind myself to drink, and then forget how many times I've refilled it.

Would I use it every day?

The AquaVibe is a great desk bottle for the office or your work-from-home space. It's helpful to have it within reach whether you're on the couch or as a bedside companion for those middle-of-the-night bursts of thirst. For this reason, it has become my weekday go-to.

However, I wouldn't take this paragon of hydration out of these environments, which means on busy weekends it doesn't get as much of a run. When full, it's quite heavy, and cumbersome to carry around. It'd probably need its own seat on the bus.

The colour and the little motivators are really cute, and I love seeing it on my desk dwarfing my hand sanitiser and the pathetic one-litre water bottle I've now abandoned. The compliments the bottle receives now make drinking water a personal competition. Best of all, it's only $26, which is much cheaper than my regular insulated ones.

Who knew timely reminders would be so effective at keeping me adequately hydrated?
