Sean "Diddy" Combs' blockbuster trial continued for a second day Tuesday, May 13.
Jurors heard testimony from Combs' ex, Cassie Ventura, who is considered the government's star witness. She discussed her decade-long relationship with the hip hop mogul and recounted in harrowing detail the abuse she alleges she faced at his hands, including forced sexual encounters with male sex workers while he watched.
Prosecutors allege Combs is a violent individual running a criminal enterprise, based on coercing people — using drugs, threats and physical force — to participate in orchestrated sex acts called "freak offs."
Authorities say Combs' enterprise is tied to sexual abuse, drug crimes, arson and kidnapping offenses.
Combs' attorneys countered that the prosecution was digging into his private sex life, and said the allegations may constitute domestic violence but not sex trafficking.
The rap mogul was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing.

May 13, 2025 04:28 PM EDT
Ventura told the court that Combs would sometimes urinated on her during "Freak Offs."
“Sometimes Sean — he, himself, or an escort would urinate on me,” she said
Ventura further stated that she did not want to be urinated on but that she was never asked, calling the experience "humiliating."
She testified she was sometimes choked because there was “too much urine in my mouth."
“I don’t want anyone to urinate on me," Ventura said. "Sean would urinate in my mouth — not super often but often enough.”
Diddy Allegedly Asked Cassie to Get into Blow-Up Pool Filled With Baby Oil
May 13, 2025 02:51 PM EDT
At one point, Ventura testified, Combs asked her to get in a blow-up pool filled with baby oil.
Ventura said she didn't want to and was fully clothed at the time, but feared what would happen if she refused.
“Something that Sean wanted to happen, that’s what was going to happen,” Ventura said.
In the indictment against Combs filed in September 2024, prosecutors alleged that federal authorities found 1,000 bottles of baby oil after raiding the mogul's homes, though his attorney disputed the number.
Cassie Says She Was Handed a Gun Before Diddy Went Meet Rival Mogul
May 13, 2025 02:39 PM EDT
Ventura testified that during a "Freak Off" in Los Angeles, Combs got word that his longtime rival, Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight, was in the area.
Combs was alerted by one of his security guards, D-Roc, who said Knight was at a nearby diner, Ventura said.
“They quickly packed up and drove down there,” she testified. “I was crying, I was screaming, ‘Don’t do anything stupid.’ I just was really nervous for them, I didn’t know what it meant, what they were going to do."
Ventura testified that they all left in an SUV and that she was handed a gun to put in her purse.
She said she had the gun for at least an hour, while high on mushrooms, and was "terrified" the gun would go off.
“I had no idea why I had it in the first place,” Ventura said. “Always felt like it was a scare tactic.”
Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2018.
Cassie Testifies Diddy 'Punished' Her by Taking Away Her Phone, Laptop
May 13, 2025 01:47 PM EDT
Ventura said that Combs would sometimes "punish" her by having his 24-hour security taking away access to her laptop or phone. She said that she'd be without her electronics for "however long I was being punished for."
Asked if he had taken anything else from her, she replied "my self confidence."
Ventura also testified that Combs tightly controlled her appearance — putting her on an exercise regimen in preparation for Freak Offs and insisting she keep her nails painted white with French tips.
Her look during Freak Offs was especially important to him, she testified. “Some days he would want me to be really sexy," she said, "and be his woman other days."
Cassie Says "Freak Offs" Were Like a "Job," Lasted Up to 4 Days at a Time
May 13, 2025 12:46 PM EDT
Ventura told the court that "Freak Offs" could last several days at a time.
“The longest was 4 days or even more with breaks,” she said. “Then I was recovering from the drugs, dehydration —just trying to stay awake all the time.”
"The Freak Offs became a job," she told the jury.
The "Me & U" singer noted that she had signed a 10-album deal with Combs' Bad Boy Records in 2006, but only ever released one record.
Cassie Would Meet Diddy at Trump Hotel in N.Y.C.
May 13, 2025 12:22 PM EDT
Ventura testified that she hung out with Combs at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Manhattan.
Combs allegedly introduced Ventura to oral sex, she testified, noting that there was a 17-year age gap between the two.
"Sean taught me how. He gave me oral sex, I did not reciprocate— I just went home," Ventura testified. "I heard about it from him. He made me feel crazy for not reciprocating but I didn’t understand and I was in a relationship with someone else."
Diddy Recorded Sexual Encounters for 'Blackmail Materials,' Cassie Testifies
May 13, 2025 12:14 PM EDT
Ventura testified that Combs would often record their intimate moments and referred to the footage as “blackmail materials."
“He had many resources to do that,” Ventura said, referring to Combs' alleged ability to release the recordings.
The singer also spoke about her 21st birthday in Las Vegas, when she said Combs kissed her.
“I was really confused at the time, you know, new artist," she recalled. "I was pretty naive."
Ventura said she did not want Combs to kiss her on that occasion.
“I wanted to be around Sean for the same reasons as everyone else at the time," she said. "This exciting, entertaining, fun guy who also happened to have my career in his hands.”
Cassie Takes the Stand and Describes Relationship with Diddy: 'He Controlled a Lot of My Life'
May 13, 2025 12:14 PM EDT
Ventura, a key witness for the prosecution who was in a relationship with Combs for over a decade, took the stand Tuesday, May 13, visibly pregnant.
Speaking in a soft voice, Venutra described her relationship with the music mogul as one filled with control and emotional pressure.
“He controlled a lot of my life,” she said.
Early on in the relationship, Ventura testified Combs introduced the idea of sexual voyeurism and noted that she was “naive” and a “total people-pleaser.”
Ventura was asked about "Freak Offs," a key piece of the indictment, and explained that theyinvolved hiring a male escort, “setting up this experience” and “performing.”
She further said the experiences left her feeling “nervousness and confusion.”
Diddy's Lawyer Tries to Show Cassie's Encounter With Escort Was Consensual
May 13, 2025 10:56 AM EDT
During cross-examination of Phillip, a male escort who said Ventura paid him for sex while Combs watched, the music mogul's lawyer Xavier Donaldson attempted to paint the sexual encounter as consensual.
The indictment against Combs alleges that he forced or coerced women into having sex with male sex workers, a claim the defense has attempted to push back on.
“Was Ventura the one who paid you?” Donaldson asked.
“Yes,” Phillip responded.
“She wasn’t drunk or high?," Donaldson asked, to which Phillip responded by agreeing she wasn't.
“Is it fair to say she was in complete control of everything she did?,” Donaldson asked.
"I cannot say that,” Phillipanswered.

Combs entered the downtown Manhattan courtroom on day 2 of his trial wearing a light-colored crewneck sweater. He embraced his attorneys before turning to greet members of his family in the gallery.

Diddy's Lawyer Says Cassie's Pregnancy Could Be Source of Sympathy
May 13, 2025 09:37 AM EDT
Ventura, who is 8-and-a-half months pregnant, is expected to take the stand on Tuesday, May 13, providing potentially pivotal testimony in Combs' case.
Combs' attorney Marc Agnifilo has requested that Ventura be seated in the witness box before the jury is seated because her appearance could possibly influence the jurors' perception of a key prosecution witness.
"Pregnancy is beautiful and wonderful," Agnifilo told the judge. "It is also a source of potential sympathy."
